The repose in the Lord of Metropolitan Paul of Sisanion and Siatista was announced on the official website of the Orthodox Church of Greece.

Metropolitan Paul died of a heart attack on January 13, at the age of 72.
After theological studies in Athens, he was ordained to the diaconate in 1973, to the holy priesthood the following year, and to the episcopate on February 28, 2006. He was consecrated as the metropolitan of Sisanion and Siatista on March 4, 2006.

He served in various positions, especially in a parish in Matoutou for 25 years. He also participated in several educational and social organizations, and as a catechist and producer for the Church’s radio station.
His emphasis was on fostering priestly and monastic vocations. Many churches were built or renovated, and men ordained to the priesthood under his leadership.
He didn’t hesitate to speak out on crucial issues, such as the normalization of homosexuality in Greece and abortion.

May his memory be eternal!
