Le patriarche œcuménique Bartholomée se rendra à Thessalonique à la fin du mois de septembre sur l’invitation du métropolite de Neapolis et Stavroupolis Barnabé. La visite du patriarche au diocèse de l’ouest de Thessalonique aura lieu le week-end du 29 et 30 septembre. Le programme de la visite n’a pas encore été fixé définitivement. Celui-ci a été discuté lors de l’entretien du patriarche Bartholomée et du métropolite Barnabé le 1er

Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop of Comana (3rd c.). SAINTS PHOTIUS AND ANICETUS The Martyrs Anicetus and Photius (his nephew) were natives of Nicomedia. Anicetus, a military official, denounced the emperor Diocletian (284-305) for setting up in the city square an implement of execution for frightening Christians.

On September 29-30, invited by Metropolitan Barnabas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Patriarch Bartholomew will visit Thessaloniki Military Allied Cemetery (Zeitenlik) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The program of the visit was discussed during the meeting between Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Barnabas on August 1st in Phanar, but it has not been finalized yet.
