A school for « foster parents » is created in the diocese of Saint Petersburg

The « Tenderness School » for foster parents, opened at the Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, was presented to the Saint Petersburg Social Policy Committee on August 8. Previously, there was only one similar project in Russia, located in Moscow. The creation of the school was supported by Alexander Rjanenkov, the chairman of the Social Policy Committee, and by Svetlana Agapitova, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights

Over 40 tons of food and aid delivered to the Donbass

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been helping people in need in eastern Ukraine for almost five years. On August 1st, they sent trucks with over forty tons of food and humanitarian aid to the dioceses of Lugansk and Rivne, aimed mostly at inhabitants in need and people who have been suffering from the ongoing military action.
