A Constantinople Patriarchate delegation visited Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens on April 1, 2019, to find out what position the Church of Greece was planning to adopt about Ukraine. The meeting lasted over an hour, and the only issue the delegation had been mandated by Patriarch Bartholomew to discuss was Ukraine.
Metropolitan Emmanuel of France (Ecumenical Patriarchate) and Metropolitan of Amphilochios of Adrianopolis (the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the Church of Greece) had the opportunity to exchange views with Archbishop Ieronymos and to express their mutual concerns. Archbishop Ieronymos assured them he was following the problem with special attention, and that on the occasion of the next assembly of the entire hierarchy of the Church of Greece, the assembly will adopt its official position.
