On July 18, the Romanian Church commemorated the 150th anniversary of the birth of its Patriarch, Miron Cristea. Born on July 18, 1868 in Topliţa (Harghita county), the future patriarch was first appointed bishop of Caransebeş for nine years. He was Metropolitan-Primate from 1920 to 1925, then Patriarch from 1925 to 1939. He was also a member of the Regency from 1927 to 1930, serving as Prime Minister of the
