Baptism of 520 Tanzanians

On February 6, 2019, a mass baptism took place in St. George’s Church in Kimamba, Tanzania, which was built by the Greeks in 1952 and restored after the 2008 earthquake of.
After a systematic catechesis, 520 natives were baptized baptism with exemplary piety and great joy. They then received Holy Communion, and were married in the Church the following day.
On the same day, Metropolitan Dimitrios of Dar es Salaam ordained five young readers who will serve the five new parishes established in 2018 in the region around the missionary center in Morogoro, 155 miles away from the capital, in eastern Tanzania.
The Metropolitan also thanked the fourteen Greeks living in the area. They were all present at the ceremony and are helping the missionary work of the metropolis.
