New primate of the Estonian Church of the Moscow Patriarchate

On May 29, Archbishop Evgeny of Verey was elected as the new primate of the Estonian Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.   He was born on October 9, 1957 in Kazakhstan. He graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy in 1987 with the thesis “Pastoral Care in the Russian Church in the Tenth-Thirteenth Centuries.”   He has been a monk and a hieromonk for over thirty years.
