On March 13, 2019, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow received the
delegation of the Church of Greece Synodal
Office of Pilgrimage Tours: Archimandrite Spyridon Katramados, the
Secretary, and Christos Petreas and Mario Magkos, currently in Moscow to
participate in the International Tourism Fair.
The delegation was received at Novospassky Monastery, located near the center of Moscow. The patriarch attended the Service of Great Compline and read the Grand Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.
He warmly received the head of the delegation of the Church of Greece with his assistants.
Expressing his joy at the delegation’s visit, Patriarch Kirill asked Father Spyridon to convey his greetings to Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and the members of the Greek Church hierarchy, as well as his paternal greetings to the Greek people.
He stressed that “…the sister Churches of Greece and Russia, as well as their peoples, must always remain united in Christ. They must distance themselves from well-known centers which clearly have nothing to do with the Orthodox Church and faith, and cause problems from time to time, with the aim of creating division between us, with unpredictable consequences “.
In his response, Fr. Spyridon Katradmados conveyed the fraternal greetings and thanks of His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and of the Holy Synod, for receiving this. He mentioned the activities realized for years by the Church of Greece Synodal Office of Pilgrimage Tours. The Church of Greece delegation will remain in Russia until March 16, 2019, the last day of the International Tourism Fair.
